Doctrines of the Reformed Faith

bible_studyWhat is the Reformed faith? Is T.U.L.I.P. just a flower? What on earth is The Five Points of Calvinism? See the MARKINC representative at the Information Center this Sunday to purchase an attractively packaged 5-CD series for $25, featuring Dr. Betters and Sharon’s interviews on the subject.

2/7 Worship Service Cancelled

After consulting with all concerned, I have decided that it would simply be too dangerous to hold the worship service tomorrow. Even if we clear the lot, travel to and from the church would be risky and dangerous. Therefore, the church service for tomorrow is canceled.

However, Sharon and I MAY be able to hold another live online Q and A as we did the last time we had to cancel the worship service. So tune in at 10:30 tomorrow at www.glasgowchurch.com to see if we are live online. That will depend on whether or not we can get the right personnel there. Keep in mind that whenever we have to cancel a worship service we still need you to give your tithes and offerings, especially since it has cost us thousands and thousands of dollars this year to have the lot plowed and salted. Our expenses continue whether or not we conduct a worship service for that week. Stay warm and safe. Hold a mini-worship service in your home tomorrow and pray for your leadership even as we are praying for you.

ChurchNExT – First Edition

At the congregational meeting this past September, the congregation voted to proceed with a three million dollar campaign to execute our vision.  We continue to put together this campaign which will culminate with Commitment Sunday on May 23rd.  We will be asking each member and regular attendee to make a commitment (above your normal giving) which will be given over a three-year period. You will be asked to commit the funds asking that the Lord will provide the amount.

We believe this vision is from the Lord and is the culmination of years of research and planning. We are very blessed at Glasgow Church.  It would be easy to be content to continue doing what we have been doing, but we do not believe that is what God has called us to do.  We are called to glorify Him in our worship, to grow in grace through discipleship, and to go as Jesus said in mission.  This campaign will help put resources in our hands to move to the next level to accomplish this great vision. At Glasgow Church, we are always asking, “what is NEXT?”  What is NEXT in worship?  What is NEXT in discipleship?  What is NEXT in mission?  Basically, what is NEXT at Glasgow?  One of the key doctrines of the Reformation was for the church to “always be reforming” or Sempre Reformando. In 21st century language, this basically means the church should always be in the practice of asking “what is next”? This campaign reflects a piece of what is NEXT for this great church.  (more…)

Worship Service On

Our 1/31 Worship Service is still on, and we look forward to worshipping with you at 10:30 am.
