Community Group
Community Groups are where discipleship happens at Glasgow.
At Glasgow, Community Group is where you grow in faith, in relationships with people and with God. This is where you find purpose and mission. Community Groups are small gatherings that meet regularly for friendship, accountability, study, prayer, laughter and even tears.
Each Community Group is unique, reflecting the personalities of various neighborhoods and of the people who attend. However, what you can expect is a regular gathering in someone’s home that involves food, conversation, prayer and a discussion on how to apply the sermon. At the heart of each Community Group meeting is the desire to see an authentic community marked by love for Jesus, for one another and for their neighborhood.
Why should I join a Community Group?
Community Group captures a sense of mission, community – that is, what these groups are all about. These are not static but fluid groups with a purpose and a unique calling – a mission to serve and a mission to grow. In every great journey, all of us need people around us who will cheer us on and encourage our labor for Christ. God has not intended for us to live life alone. Community Group is a place where we can live in relationship with one another through life’s victories and failures.
With the large attendance at Glasgow, it would be impossible to really get connected without our Community Groups. We desire that everyone at Glasgow would have the opportunity to gather with great friends, to grow in their faith with these friends, and to be equipped to go on mission as God leads you.
How do I get connected to a Community Group?
The first step to getting involved with a Community Group is to just call the church office at 302.834.4772 or email Damon Cinaglia. We’ll match you up with a group that fits your stage in life and is geographically close to you. Each group meets on different days of the week and at different times. When you find one that fits your schedule, simply show up!
It may sound intimidating, but Community Groups are all about breaking down the barriers that prevent true discipleship from happening. Feel free to email or call one of the group leaders below so they know you’re coming or ask to be introduced on Sunday morning.
