A Picture is Worth Three Words

Glorify. Grow. Go.

A logo is more than a graphic you put on business cards. It’s an identity. It’s a message. It’s a story that shares who you are and invites your audience to get to know you a little better. No, a logo is not something to fight over. But it is a helpful way for us to connect with our community. That is why we have been intentionally working for the last several months (years) to refine who we are and how to depict that identity to our community.
So, with that said, we are excited to present to you our new logo. There are three aspects of the logo in particular that we would like to highlight as they fit in so tightly with our identity as a church that emphasizes worship, discipleship and mission.

1) Worship – We are called to be a church that glorifies God. The light bursting forth from the upper right corner of the logo is to remind us of Christ who said, “I am the light of the world” (John 8:12).
2) Discipleship – We are called to be a community as we “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). As we grow, we are to be busting on all sides, as depicted by the G busting through its border.
3) Mission – We are called to be a people on a mission. Jesus says to us to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matt 28:19) until the whole world knows. As in the logo, we are to always have the world in view.

Cool, right? While seeming so simple, this new identity shares who we are clearly and succinctly. This logo is our identity. It’s a message. It’s our story.  It’s a declaration that we, Glasgow Church, exist to glorify God, grow in grace and to go as Jesus says.

Diaconate Financial Consultations

In light of the responses we received from the recent giving survey indicating that many of you are really struggling financially, the deacons would like to offer a time for you to meet with us.  During the week of August 17th, we will have time slots available for you to come in and simply share with us what’s going on regarding your current financial condition.  These will be information gathering sessions only, lasting no more than 45 minutes.  The goal of these meetings is for us to get a better handle on what’s going on with our people in general and to help us go back and construct some possible options that will help lead you to a solution, whether that be a seminar, series of classes, or a one-on-one mentoring relationship.  We would also find it a privilege to pray for you.

The time slots available are as follows:

Fireproof – A Couples Movie Night

fireproof_header

At work, inside burning buildings, Capt. Caleb Holt lives by the old firefighter’s adage: Never leave your partner behind. At home, in the cooling embers of his marriage, he lives by his own rules. His job is to rescue others. Now Caleb must face his toughest job ever…rescuing his wife’s heart.

Glasgow Church invites you to a special couples-only movie event on March 6th.  The movie will begin at 7:00pm in the Loft at the church. We are not currently planning childcare for the event. If you cannot provide your own, please contact the church office.

Seating is limited, so register now to ensure your seat.

No more submissions accepted at this time.
