Writing a bio can be a strange task because I’m left wondering what you may actually want to know about me. Â So, I’ve come up with a few thoughts, but if you really want to get a feel for who I am, friend me on Facebook or follow me on Twitter. Â There you will get my thoughts on a variety of things both serious and not-so-serious.
There are a few things you may be interested in knowing. Â Kim and I have been married for almost five years. Â She is great. Â You should definitely get to know her. Â In September, we had our first child, Jeremiah. Â He’s a blast and there is nothing quite like watching him laugh. Â When he sees daddy and gets excited, that’s about the coolest thing in the world.
Professionally, I joined the staff at Glasgow in 2007 and have a pretty cool job where I get to oversee the sports and outreach ministries of the church as well as teach in a variety of environments in the church. Â I like sports ministry for two reasons. Â First, I am a sports guy myself. Â I coached and taught tennis for several years and even officiated pro tennis. Â I enjoy playing and watching most sports including baseball, football, tennis, and golf. Â Even though my picture is in Eagles apparel, baseball is definitely my favorite. (I still can’t believe the Phillies won the World Series!) Â Second, we live in a world dominated by sports. Â Because of that, sports provides a great opportunity to engage people with the claims of Christ.
Before coming to Glasgow, Kim and I lived in Orlando, Florida, where I attended Reformed Theological Seminary.  I graduated with my Master of Divinity in May of 2007.  While in seminary, I was the college pastor at a church there.  Before seminary, I served on staff with Young Life for two years in Orlando and three years in the Philly area.  Kim and I are still involved with Young Life through training potential leaders from the University of Delaware.
My biggest passion in ministry is developing leaders. Â Starting when I was with Young Life, God revealed to me that if I wanted to have a ministry that multiplied its impact, it would be through developing leaders. Â I enjoy leadership studies so much that I am currently pursuing my PhD in Organizational Leadership from Eastern University. Â It has provided a great opportunity for me to think through the way that the church develops leaders in light of the current research out there.
