Thanks for visiting my bio page. I have been told that I need to share a little bit about myself. I have come from a pretty decent family. My mom and dad are pretty decent people. I have two brothers. I only have one older sister who could also be my lawyer should I ever need one. I work with my oldest brother Chuck and we pretty much get along on good terms. My other brother, Mark, is sorely missed by all of us. He has a lot to do with where I am today and why I chose to go into the ministry in the first place. Mark was killed in a tragic car accident at the age of 16. I was only 17 at the time. Mark and I were very close and I miss him very much. Through the pain God has brought beauty from the ashes.
I have reached the ripe old age of 33. My wife, Laura, is my beautiful bride of almost nine years. We fell in love a long time ago and the rest is history. We have five children. Emma is 7 and promised me at age 3 that she would stop growing up. Caleb is 4 and enjoys Star Wars toys and cars. Evangeline is 2 and is saucy and sassy. We adopted our little girl Miriam Siddhi from India and she is now 2. Finally, our little boy Samuel Jovan who we call Jovan is not even a year old–he is pretty cool too.
I came into ministry in 1998 as I began to hang out with high school students and tell them about Jesus. I only knew slightly more than they did at the time so I thought it best to begin attending seminary. I began to attend Chesapeake Seminary and finally ended up at Reformed Theological Seminary. As time went on, I received a call to preach and teach God’s Word so I was licensed and ordained in the PCA. I graduated from seminary in 2008. I have been preaching for several years. Some sermons are better than others.
I have a lot of likes and dislikes. I like to surf, take the top off of my Jeep on warm days, new technology, listening to loud movies, learning new U2 songs, playing guitar, writing songs, recording songs and generally playing music with a few of my friends. I love our big church. I love coming to a church on the Lord’s Day that is full of people who are there with a common purpose–to worship the Lord. There is something comforting about a big crowd of God’s people.
Here at GRPC I am one of two preaching pastors. I am also leading the youth ministry. I have my hands in the music ministry, REFUGE and ONE FOUNDATION (our mission programs), and several other areas. I enjoy what I do here very much and I hope that you and I will one day be able to work together in ministry as we seek the common purpose of spreading God’s good news about Jesus.
Recently, the Session of Glasgow has sent me to begin a new church work in Middletown, DE. This new work is called Stone’s Throw Church. It is part of our philosophy to create many locations of one church. You can learn more about Stone’s Throw Church by going to www.stonesthrowchurch.com. We plan to launch our new campus in the Spring of 2010 right in the heart of Middletown.
