Missionary of the Week – Phil & Barb

world_map1Phil and Barb, along with their three children, have been serving the Lord in South East Asia for many years.  Having been deported from one South East Asian country they have settled into their new home country, which is working well as a launch point for travels throughout S.E. Asia.  Phil serves as team leader for the Asian Crescent Team. The team has been tasked with reaching all of South East Asia for Christ with an emphasis on reaching Muslims.

Updates from a recent prayer letter:

It was wonderful being based at home for the entire month of December.  I really like being at home!  Plus, Barb and the kids had three weeks of holiday and Isaac got to come back home from the States for most of that time as well.  The last few days of his time with us we did a family holiday at the beach.  Just to prepare him for the weather back in the States!

New team members Micah and Blair arrived last week.  They already have agreed on an apartment and are adjusting well.  Please pray for us as we integrate them and define their role over the upcoming months.

Next week is a team retreat.  We have some visiting families who hopefully will be joining us in ministry.  It’s a hard time for our team as we face a number of growing pains and new experiences for all of us.  Please pray that I will be learning to lead well.  I’m thankful for each person on our team as they show me lots of grace and are teaching me in different ways.

The following week some of us will be working on developing ministries in medicine, teaching English, and about the ordination process. (There are now 20 nationals who have passed the licensing exam and are preparing for ordination.)  Please pray for me as I prepare to teach a theological module on the Sacraments.  It’s a big challenge and a busy time to try to prepare.

We are much in need of your intercession on our behalf and deeply thankful for your partnership in the Gospel.
